		<description>For me, the important thing about Riva is the concepts it uses. They are designed to aid understanding about how our organisations work. The method is designed to exploit those concepts and uses a couple of notations en route. Riva started from the perspective of thinking about the dynamics of a business, and it sticks to that knitting. Much of what is happening elsewhere started in the world of IT and has pushed back into business matters but is naturally in danger of imposing IT concepts and practicalities onto how we think about our businesses. I see that as dangerous. But,, being an even-handed sort of chap, I can can see the attraction of the prospect of applying a single, one-size-fits-all notation across the process spectrum.
